* Soften Technique in Teaching *
One technique that is often forgotten by some teachers is SOFTEN (Smile, Open Gesture, Forward lean, Touch, Eye contact, Nod) techniques.
This soften technique is usually used by people who wrestle in the business world, especially in negotiating. According to psychologists a person speaking using this technique can make the other person feel comfortable and feel appreciated.
How can adoption in teaching?
Yes teachers who teach in urban areas, especially in schools that prioritize service for the satisfaction of students and parents are usually encouraged to adopt soften techniques in teaching.
Let us discuss soften techniques one by one;
1. Smile (Smile)
Teachers are encouraged to teach with a smile, this habit of smile is still considered difficult. But yes it's hard, hehe. It's hard to get used to smile for teachers who are not used. Smile, train yourself for a smile for three seconds. Remember yes, smile in addition can provide students comfort as well as the value of worship for us. :-)
2. Open Gesture (Open)
Open Gestute is sometimes interpreted as open to the material in question, we receive criticism and input from a student to improve ourselves in the learning process. There is also an open gesture stated that we are talking / teaching with open arms, expression, and not rigid as folding hands in front of the chest.
3. Forward lean (bending forward)
If there are students who are inquiring, get closer from bunching our bada towards him, this is a sign that we are ready and hear what they are asking.
4. Touch (Touch)
Give your students a touch, such as wipe their head or shoulders while saying. Wow ... your smart. Usually kinestetik child likes when in touch.
But remember, you should know the age and place touched, not to touch the private parts of students. I know what I mean. Yes ... it's you teachers. :-)
5. Eye Contact (eye-to-eye)
Look at our students with compassion, see his eyes read what is in his heart. looking good is for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds turn your gaze to another student or other object such as a whiteboard or picture you are explaining.
6. Nod (nod)
If your student is speaking / explaining / k expressing his opinion. You listen, and nod your head as a sign you listen and understand what he is saying. students will feel appreciated if we give a nod as he expresses his opinion.
That soften technique in a simple .. hopefully this writing can provide benefits for you who read it.
